Kipp's Ride..

Home Page

Kipp Turner passed away in Oct. 2007, he died of pancreatic cancer. He was a young, fit, active, non smoking man. Suddenly and without any warning he became sick and four months later we lost him. He was only 46 years young. Kipp had a lovely wife named Wendy and two children, a boy and girl, Dane and Kelsey. He was an electrical contractor, he owned his own thriving company; KW Electric. Everyone that knew him loved him, he was a very likable, easy going guy with a heart of gold. Kipp was always there to lend a helping hand. He was an extraordinary son, husband, father, brother, uncle and friend.  We all miss him dearly and we despise the cancer disease that took him from us too soon. Raising funds to help with cancer research is something we are proud to do, in memory of Kipp. It's our sincere hope that someday, in the near future, a cure for cancer will be found.

Cancer of the pancreas is sometimes called a “silent” disease because symptoms are not usually present in early stages. Many patients have advanced disease by the time it becomes noticeable to the patient and the doctors, as in Kipp's case. Symptoms that do develop are often vague. Individuals may experience different symptoms depending on the location, type and stage of the tumor. Symptoms that commonly lead to diagnosis include: jaundice, abdominal and (or) back pain, unexplained weight loss and loss of appetite. A person with advanced pancreatic cancer may experience all of these symptoms. Blood clots most often form in the legs and may easily go unnoticed. Symptoms such as fatigue, weakness, digestive difficulties and depression may occur at any time.

"Kipp's Ride" is dedicated to him. It started in 2008. Kipp's brother's and friends all ride their motercycles around the upper horn of MI over Labor Day weekend.

The sales from the T-shirts & hats raise money for  the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. (PanCan)  All donations support PanCan's comprehensive approach to fighting pancreatic cancer through research, patient support, community outreach and advocacy for a cure.
